Our Team - Our Mestre
World Team is the team led by Mestre Rolando Carrizo Ortiz who, without a doubt, has made history in Luta Livre and we are the ones who accompany his technical and philosophical line of combat, work and organization.
He was the one who created the name Brazilian Luta Livre; the one who created the first world entity of this discipline whose current name is International Brazilian Luta Livre Federation. He was the creator of belt programs with specific techniques (replacing the programs by number of techniques for each level).
In Luta Livre competitions is the coach who revolutionized the Budokan Cup with his students, setting historical records (among many other achievements).
His influence marked a before and a after in Luta Livre in several aspects and, in addition, he is 6th Dan, the highest degree among instructors who are members of the Budokan (team of Grand Master João Ricardo).
And all these achievements are capitalized and supported by our team.
But, beyond Brazilian Luta Livre, Mestre Carrizo Ortiz was the creator of instructor’s courses in combat sports (Grappling, MMA and Striking in general) through careers with subjects such as Physiology, Sports Psychology and Physical Conditioning that accompany to Didactics and Methodology to complement the technical subjects. That is, he took the teaching of combat sports to a higher level, giving instructors greater tools.
He is the first systematizer of the learning of Mixed Martial Arts, teaching it as a sport with its own characteristics and segmenting its system’s techniques to create short and medium-term goals through a degree’s scale (like belts) with specific techniques (a novelty even today).
But World Team has a quality technical line not only in Grappling and MMA.
Mestre Carrizo Ortiz is also 8th Dan of Kick Boxing, 8th Dan of Full Contact and Full Instructor in Muay Thai (Striking being his first specialty before learning about Grappling).
That is why we have teams in these systems with quality students and instructors, who advance their learning through belt and level programs created especially for them and with the same quality as those of Brazilian Luta Livre.

While learning a unique technical and teaching system could be considered the greatest benefit for the instructors who represent us, there are also others that complement them.

An Instructor always has financial benefits obtained from his students when they participate in World Team activities (tests, seminars, tournaments).
These benefits are more important and bigger than they may seem, because one of the keys to World Team's work philosophy is to financially benefit its instructors in order to accompany them as much as possible so that they can make teaching a profession and that they don't have to have other jobs.

The first step is to contact us.
We will send you a form for you to respond in which we will ask you questions to find out what your concerns and objectives are within the team and also to know what your experience is.
After receiving and analyzing it, we will tell you the steps to follow. It’s always very simple!
World Team charges an annual membership to its instructors that is deducted from the belt tests fees for students. Therefore, if you are an instructor and have students who take belt tests, you will not only earn money with each one, but being an official World Team representative will be free.
